Based in Kenya, Meiga Productions is a recently set up, flexible media production company led by myself, a self-shooting director and producer with over 20 years’ experience in creating short-form, documentary and branded content, working globally for a variety of clients including journalistic, commercial, corporate and non-profit. Meiga Productions is fully insured and draws from a pool of professionals in their fields to match each project’s specific needs.
Meiga productions aims to create story-led, cinematic, documentary-style films working with (and training) local emerging talented teams including Producers, Directors, DoPs, Editors, Sound technicians, Moving graphics, Illustrators, Animators, etc.
All the crew (as well as myself) speak Swahili, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and other Kenyan languages, and are either Kenyan or have been living in Kenya for a decade and are fully integrated and familiar with the audience the content represents and targets.
An introduction to Meiga Productions and Me:
I’m an audiovisual storyteller born from journalism. I tell stories that are investigative, socially, culturally, and environmentally effective and impactful. I work with people to make their stories standout, and amplify the ambition of projects both in film and photography.
I have been creating film and photographing professionally for over two decades. I can operate solo or with a team of professionals on bigger projects. I’m fluent in English, Spanish, Galician, Portuguese, and speak everyday Swahili.
My latest documentary about bias in Artificial Intelligence was shown at the Barbican’s Life Rewired Hub last November, and has recently been selected as Best Documentary at the Great Message International Film Festival.

A bit about how we work:
Firstly, I go through the brief in detail with the client to make sure the work I propose addresses it in the desired way. Then I engage the team I need for that specific project’s needs and we discuss localised adjustments to address, as well as the general production requirements. Then onto Production, then Post-production. Along the way, and especially during the Post-production process, I use WeTransfer as a collaborative tool to work with the client in making final edit decisions. I aim to set up a clear structure from the beginning, then stay flexible and creative throughout for best outcomes.
If you’ve a story to share get in touch. Let’s collaborate, create and make it heard.
